Cowichan Connection (“we”, “us”) is operated by Brandscaping Marketing Services Canada Inc. (Time2GetOnline) in British Columbia. We handle personal information under BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and password when you register.
- Reviews and ratings you submit, with your display name. Reviews are public once approved.
- Business listing information: business name, address, phone, website and details, taken from the business’s own public website or given to us by the business.
- Technical information: IP address and browser details, used for security and to detect fake or duplicate reviews.
- Location: only if you choose “near me”. Your browser shares your approximate location to sort results by distance. We don’t store it.
- Payment information for paid plans is handled by our payment processor. We don’t store card numbers.
How we use it
- to run the directory and your account
- to moderate reviews and prevent abuse
- to process paid plans and send receipts
- to reply when you contact us
- to send listing-related messages to businesses (you can unsubscribe at any time)
We don’t sell personal information.
Services we use
The site uses Google Maps for maps and location search, and may use Google Analytics to understand site traffic. These services may set cookies and process data under their own privacy policies.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep account and review information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account. Published reviews may be removed or anonymized at that point. Business listings based on public information may stay listed. Businesses can ask us to correct or remove their listing.
Your rights
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent, by contacting us. We’ll respond within 30 days, as PIPA requires.

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
